Hi there! We are always in need of passionate volunteers. Here are some of the volunteer opportunities we currently have:
Hands-On Care:
- Fundraiser Event Organization: Help plan and run events like bottle drives, 50/50 draws, silent auctions, and other creative fundraising initiatives.
- Shifts at PetSmart: Spend time at the PetSmart Uptown location, caring for the kittens up for adoption. This includes feeding, playing with them, and cleaning litter boxes.
- Shelter Care: Spend time at our adoption center (located at Harbour Vet Clinic 811 Bay St), socializing kittens, feeding them, and cleaning their living spaces.
- Kitten Photography and Videography: Capture heartwarming moments of the kittens to help us create engaging social media content, which increases adoption rates.
Administrative Support:
- Social Media Management & Post Creation: Help us run our social media channels by creating posts, engaging with our followers, and spreading the word about upcoming events or adoptable kittens.
- Grant Writing: Assist with researching and writing grant applications to help fund our rescue efforts.
- Website Updates: Keep our website updated with fresh content, available kittens, success stories, and more.
- Reviewing Applications: Help us review foster, volunteer, and adoption applications to ensure the best matches for our animals and community.
Community Outreach:
- Community Relationship Building: Spread the word about our rescue by engaging with local organizations, schools, and community groups. Help build a network of supporters and potential adopters.
- Business Outreach: Approach local businesses to request donations or set up donation boxes at their registers.
- Volunteer Coordination: Help manage and coordinate other volunteers by organizing schedules, shifts, and training sessions.
Clinic Assistance:
- Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic: Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing supplies at our clinic during off-hours. This helps ensure our clinic remains efficient and safe for both animals and staff.
Creative and Educational Opportunities:
- Content Creation: Write blog posts, newsletters, or educational content about kitten care, the importance of spaying/neutering, and rescue work.
- Event Support: Assist at events by setting up, manning booths, and talking to the public about our mission.
- Creative Fundraising Ideas: If you have creative fundraising ideas, we’re always open to new ways to engage the community!
Transport Assistance:
- Kitten & Puppy Transport: Help transport animalss to and from vet appointments, foster homes, or adoption events. Reliable transportation and flexibility are key!
- Donation Pickup: Collect donations from local businesses or drop-off points and bring them to our rescue or shelter.
Puppy Playdates:
- When you sign up for a Puppy Playdate, you’re basically borrowing a rescue puppy for a short “field trip” — the goal is to give them a fun, positive outing and help them build confidence, manners, and real-world experience.
Fostering Kittens & Puppies:
- Foster Care: Provide a temporary home for kittens or puppies, especially those who are too young for adoption or need extra socialization. Fostering is an incredibly rewarding way to help save lives!

Once the above steps are done, we will add you to the approved volunteers list (this may take a couple of days). Once added, you’ll be able to view and claim available volunteer shifts.
