There are two types of programs for spay and neuter:

  1. Low cost: This is open to anyone and everyone. This is just a surgery at a reduced price because we operate a high volume model. Book online at www.harbourvet.ca
  2. Low-Income Spay or Neuter Veterinary Assistance Program – Eligibility and Guidelines
    • This program is designed to assist low-income pet owners with the cost of spay or neuter surgeries. Funding is limited and available only to approved applicants who meet the criteria below.

      Program Rules:
      • Previous Funding: Applicants who have previously received funding through this program are not eligible for additional assistance.
      • Voucher Value: Approved applicants will receive a voucher worth $150 to be applied toward the cost of a spay or neuter surgery.
      • Eligible Animals: Vouchers may be used for either cats or dogs. The appointments for spay or neuter must be on the same day if you have two animals.
      • Household Limit: A maximum of two (2) animals per household may be approved under this program.
      • Eligibility Verification: Only individuals who are currently receiving Income Assistance through the Ministry of Housing and Social Development, recipients of the Provincial Persons with Disabilities (PWD) program, or Guaranteed Income Assistance (GIS) are eligible to apply.
      • Voucher Expiry: Vouchers must be redeemed within two (2) months of the approval date. Unused or expired vouchers cannot be reissued.
      • Vouchers can only be redeemed at Harbour Veterinary Clinic in Victoria, BC
      • This voucher/program cannot be combined with another program (either with this organization or with another organization).
